How long are your shows?
Our base package is a 30 minute show. We also offer 45 minute versions of all shows for schools, libraries, camps, and other institutional clients. We typically do not recommend 45 minute shows for birthday parties. You can also bring the entertainment time up by booking an add on such as Balloon Animals, Puppet Making, or Roaming Puppets which brings the total entertainment time to 45m-1 hour (depending on the number of kids.)
What do your shows consist of?
Lucky Duck Puppets shows typically feature a Get Up & Move Exercise, a Story (either original or based on a folk/fairytale), Puppeteer Training, a Singalong, and a Meet & Greet/Photo Opportunity with one of our puppet characters.
How many performers are in your shows?
Currently all of our shows feature one performer. We can add an additional performer or an assistant to your entertainment package for an additional fee if needed.
Who are the performers?
Lucky Duck puppets has a wonderful team of professional performers with years of experience in family entertainment all of whom are actively working in the theatrical and film/television industry, as well as in the live event industry. Our team is headed by Chris Palmieri whose puppetry work has been seen on national television and on stage off-broadway, as well as across the country on national tours and in regional productions . All performers have similar training/experience and universally positive reviews. Lucky Duck Puppets cannot guarantee the presence of any specific performer at any specific event.
How many puppets are in your shows?
Each show features between 5 and 10 puppets, depending which story you choose.
How much space do you need to perform your shows?
Our standard sized stage can fit in any space that is 6 feet wide by 4 feet deep. Our larger stage for festivals, theaters, assemblies, and libraries can fit in any space that is 8 feet wide by 6 feet deep.
What equipment do you need?
We travel with our own puppet stage and sound equipment, but are happy to use your sound equipment if you have a system! It’s always best to be near a power source but our standard sound system has an internal battery so it’s not necessary. For larger venues access to an outlet within 25 feet is required for our larger sound system. For add ons such as Puppet Making a small table and chair may be needed, depending on the space and number of kids.
What stage set up will be used for our event?
We have a standard and large sized set up which we use based on the space, number of kids, whether outdoors or indoors, and equipment availability. Our website and social media features photos/videos of all of our stage set ups. We cannot guarantee a specific set up for a specific event unless discussed with the client at the time of booking.

Our shows are geared for ages 0-9, and can be adapted based on the age group. We also offer puppetry arts educational programs for older kids.
Can you perform custom shows?

Will the puppeteer be visible during the show?
Yes! We employ a style of puppetry very popular in many current theatrical productions in which the puppeteer plays a visible narrator/host character throughout the performance- as well as performing all of the puppet characters. We find this style makes for a more engaging and fun experience for the kids!
Will the puppeteer hide the fact that their mouths are moving?
No- puppeteers talking without moving their mouths is an illusion performed by ventriloquists. Ventriloquism is a complimentary but distinct art form from standard puppetry. Lucky Duck Puppets does not offer ventriloquist acts at this time. We find that our puppets are so engaging the audience doesn’t tend to notice anyway!
What kinds of puppets will you use in your shows?
Our shows feature a variety of puppet styles- predominantly featuring hand and rod/“Muppet style” puppets, glove puppets, rod puppets, mechanical puppets, and table top puppets. Some of our puppets are quite complex so as to show off the talent & inventiveness of our puppet makers and some are quite simple so as to show kids that they can make and operate puppets as well! All will be performed in a dynamic and engaging way by our talented, energetic puppeteers!
Do your shows feature puppet characters from tv shows and movies such as The Muppets or Sesame Street?
No. We do not have the rights to use trademarked characters and so all characters featured in our shows are original or from the public domain.
What kind of events do you perform at?
We perform for birthdays, schools, camps, libraries, daycares, religious congregations, parks, festivals/carnivals, corporate events and more!
How many kids can attend a single performance?
For our shows there is no limit to the number of kids in attendance and we can perform for as little as 2-5 to as many as 100 or more audience members! Add ons that rely on consumable materials such as balloons or craft supplies do have limits and additional time or performers needed for large groups can be added for an additional fee.
