Deposit/Payment Policy:
Private Booking Policy:
All private event bookings such as birthday parties require a $100 deposit at the time of booking in order to hold the date. $200 deposits may be collected for bookings over $600. Lucky Duck Puppets cannot hold a date/time unless a deposit is paid.
-Deposits are non-refundable and applied to your balance.
-If the client chooses to reschedule or cancel their event with more than 2 weeks notice from the day of the event, the deposit may be applied to another date. This new date and time is subject to the availability of Lucky Duck Puppets. Deposits carried over to new dates must be used within one calendar year of the original event date.
-If the client chooses to reschedule or cancel within less than 2 weeks from the day of the event for any reason (including but not limited to inclement weather, illness, government shutdowns, or natural disasters), the deposit will be kept as a cancellation fee and cannot be applied to a new date. If the 2 weeks prior date falls on a weekend or national holiday the cut off date will be the last business day before the 2 week cut off date. Lucky Duck Puppets will work with the client to reschedule, pending availability, and the client will need to make another deposit to hold the new date and time. We strongly recommend indoor alternatives for outdoor events for this reason.
-Lucky Duck Puppets can accommodate rain dates for an additional $100 fee to hold the second date. This fee is non refundable and cannot be applied to any other dates.
-If the client wishes to make any reductions to the number of programs in a multi program booking, they must inform Lucky Duck Puppets of the change 2 weeks prior to the date of the event (or the closest business day before that.) If changes are requested to the number of programs with less than 2 weeks notice Lucky Duck Puppets reserves the right to charge the client a partial fee. Reductions made with less than 48 hours notice will result in the full fee being charged. This also applies to add ons added to single puppet shows such as balloon animals or puppet making.
-The full balance is due 24 hours prior the event for private bookings. Lucky Duck Puppets will not send a performer out to the event on the day of the booking unless the balance has been paid in full.
-Clients who book less than 1 week from the date of the event will be charged the full balance upon booking, with $100 of it being considered a deposit.
-Balances must be paid by the same method as the deposit unless otherwise agreed upon. Accepted payment methods include check, Venmo (@LuckyDuckPuppets), Zelle (973-896-7669), or credit/debit card (3.5% processing fee for credit cards, or for any Venmo payments processed as purchases.) Check or cash payments are not accepted for private bookings.
Institutional Client Booking Policy:
-For institutional clients (camps, schools, libraries, religious organizations, corporate clients etc) who cannot make deposit payments clients must agree to pay a $100 cancellation fee in the event of a cancellation or rescheduling less than 2 weeks from the event, in lieu of a deposit.
-Payment via check the day of the event, or by mail prior to the event is accepted for institutional clients. Payment via check by mail after the event may be accepted if discussed specifically at the time of booking. Payments postmarked later than 1 week after the event may be subject to late fees, unless a later date is specifically discussed with the client at the time of booking. Late fees may be applied after that later date in this case.
Last Minute Cancellation Policy:
-In the event of a no-call/no-show on the part of the client on the date of the event, or a cancellation less than 24 hours prior to the event, the client will be responsible for 100% of the fee, and no portion of it can be applied to a future date.
-In the event of a cancellation, at any time, on the part of Lucky Duck Puppets the full amount thus far paid will be refunded to the client.
Liability:
-Lucky Duck Puppets is under no obligation to find or provide alternative or replacement entertainment the day of, or provide entertainment on a future date in the event of an emergency cancellation.
Performers:
-Due to our high number of events booked Lucky Duck Puppets cannot guarantee the presence of any specific performer at any specific event. We will do our best to accommodate requests for specific performers if possible but Lucky Duck Puppets reserves the right to assign any one of our highly qualified performers to any event, and to change who is assigned to an event at any time, for any reason.
Arrival/Show Times:
-Show and activity time frames are approximate projections used for scheduling purposes. Shows and activities may run slightly longer or shorter than projected during the booking depending on the number of children, venue etc, unless otherwise specifically agreed to. Lucky Duck Puppets also reserves the right to end a show or activity early if the puppeteer or puppets are put in danger or an audience is excessively disruptive, disrespectful, or destructive. Lucky Duck Puppets will not issue full or partial refunds for programs cut short in situations like this.
-Should additional entertainment time be requested by the client on the day of the event Lucky Duck Puppets cannot guarantee the additional time and reserves the right to charge an additional fee if the request is granted. This includes situations where there are more children than agreed upon for add on activities such as balloon twisting or puppet making.
-Performer arrival, set up, and start times are adhered to as closely as possible, with the performer typically arriving up to 30 minutes early to set up for private events and 45 minutes early for larger institutional or corporate events. Should the performer be running late enough to delay the start time, the full program will still be delivered as soon as the performer can begin.
-Lucky Duck Puppets will always do our best to allow some flexibility with start time at the request of the client if needed. Lucky Duck Puppets will allow up to a 10 minute delay to the start time if the client requests. Requests for delays beyond 10 minutes may result in the program being shortened by the performer in order to stay on schedule for the remaining events that day. Lucky Duck Puppets will not issue full or partial refunds in situations like this.
-Lucky Duck Puppets performers will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the beginning of the entertainment time to set up for private events and 45 minutes prior for institutional and corporate events. Due to our busy schedule LDP cannot accommodate earlier call times unless additional fees are paid for the additional time. The client must make LDP aware of such a request at the time of booking so LDP can charge and schedule accordingly.
Content:
-Lucky Duck Puppets will always perform the theme/story that has been booked in advance by the client unless a change is specifically discussed with the client ahead of time. However the exact puppets, props, characters, songs, and other elements of the show may vary between individual performances based on asset and performer availability. If a client has not picked a theme for their performance Lucky Duck Puppets reserves the right to determine the show that is performed.
-Customization of show content must be discussed in advance of the performance and may result in additional fees.
-Show and add-on selections are made at the time of booking. If Client wishes to change their show selection or add/subtract add ons (including additional shows) they must inform Lucky Duck Puppets at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. Lucky Duck Puppets cannot guarantee any changes less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the event.
-If Client books a show without selecting a story/theme by two weeks prior to the event date Lucky Duck Puppets will decide what show to perform.
-Lucky Duck Puppets has three different stage set ups to be used depending on the venue, audience size, event type, and equipment availability. This is determined by Lucky Duck Puppets. Lucky Duck Puppets cannot guarantee the use of a particular stage set up unless specifically discussed at the time of booking. Please see our FAQ page for more info.
Privacy:
-All information provided to Lucky Duck Puppets during the inquiry and booking process will be kept absolutely confidential and will not be used for any purpose other than conducting business with Lucky Duck Puppets. Lucky Duck Puppets will never disclose or sell any customer information to third parties.
Agreement to Terms & Conditions:
-Client agrees to these terms by doing any or all of the following: paying a deposit, confirming a booking in writing via email or text, signing and invoice, purchase order, or contract, or signing the acknowledgement form below. These terms & conditions will apply to all clients whichever of those steps have been completed.
